Review guidelines
EveryHOA exists so homeowners, renters, and buyers can make informed decisions. Reviews must be honest, firsthand, and about the association — not individuals.
Do
- Write about your own experience as a resident, owner, renter, board member, or buyer.
- Be specific: response times, how rules are enforced, how dues are spent, how meetings run.
- Stick to facts you can stand behind, and label opinions as opinions.
- Update your review if things change.
Don't
- Name or target private individuals (neighbors, volunteer board members, staff).
- Share personal information: addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, violation letters naming owners.
- Post threats, harassment, hate speech, or profanity directed at people.
- Review an HOA you have no connection to, or post multiple reviews of the same HOA.
- Post on behalf of a management company or competitor, or offer/accept incentives for reviews.
Documents
Share only documents you are entitled to share (e.g., minutes and governing documents distributed to members). Redact owner names, account details, and other personal information before uploading.
Reporting & removal requests
Use the Report link on any review or document. Moderators review every report. We remove content that violates these guidelines, contains personal information, or infringes copyright. We do not remove reviews simply because they are negative.
Associations and management companies may also contact legal@everyhoa.com with formal requests, including DMCA notices.
